Hi

I've run into a few problems with some pro audio applications on 10.11.2, so I decided to make a partition and install an older OS X on there, so I downloaded Mavericks, but when I try to open the installer it says:

This copy of the "Install OS X" appication is too old to be opened on this version of OS X.

Any ideas?

Try making a USB installer with Mavericks, shut off your comp, press and hold Option and power up the comp and choose to boot from the USB installer. From there you should be able to choose the correct partition to install Mavericks to. Here's a link on how to make a USB installer:
