Hi all, I am running HS 10.13.4 and I have been trying to install Mountain Lion on en external drive so I can use dvd studio pro. So far, all I have tried has failed. Whenever I restart form the installer USB stick all I get is a message that the mac was not not shut down properly and the mac boot again with High Sierra. Any ideas? My mac is a 12-core 2010 Mac Pro.

Thanks!

Burn a disc should be easier

Unfortunately, Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite fail to install. As soon I initiate installation, having booted up from their respective installers, those being on a DVD or USB stick, the process is interrupted by a kernel panic. I can only install 10.6.8 which is of no use as I need NVIDIA's drivers for my GTX 980. It seems to me that the only reason why this is happening, is the upgraded firmware prior to the installation of 10.13.x
