Installing new versions of Mountain Lion on top of old?

Hello Everyone!

Have Mountain Lion DP3 installed. No problems. Very polished OS at this stage.

Can I simply install future DP through final releases of Mountain Lion on top of what I have already or am I going to be forced to downgrade to Snow Leopard first?

You cannot install release versions of MacOS X over developmental versions.

For Lion this was not an issue. You simply redeem your GM code in the app store and install it. You were able to install over a DP without an problem.

Okay, so the final version can be installed over the DP.

So, if I don't have a GM code, and I was to purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store, would it still install over DP3 or not?
