I completely wiped all the HDs on my computer I just want to install the OS from the DVD that came with the computer. I am unable to boot from it. Then I tried another disk and the same thing happen. It just freezes when I select DVD. I am holding the option key on start up and then selecting DVD and it just freezes on that screen. Any other way to get the OS onto this computer?

Hi Tarsierspectral. If you have another DVD Drive player or an external DVD drive and try installing the Snow Leopard 10.6.4. Could be a defective or dusty DVD drive player though I could be wrong. I am guessing your Mac Pro is the mid 2010 model as it usually came with a 10.6.4 SL

Yes, it's mid 2010. I am going to try a different DVD player and see how it goes.
Thanks. I will report back later.
