Hi.

I posted in here not to long ago about chat programs and "maximizing windows" and all that jazz.

I have an HP all-in-one printer (a good one, too) and it's Mac compatible.

When my Mac arrives, how does the installation process work? I have been a Windows guy for seven years now so the Windows approach is all I know. I have the Mac software cd. The Windows approach, of course, is cd first..install..ect ect...how about on Mac?

Good news! I got an e-mail from Apple about 20 minutes ago. My iMac has shipped and is expected to be delivered on Friday, December, 16th. Whoo!

Thanks guys for your help.

-Jacob.

Probably -- no installation required, just plug in USB and go. OSX comes with preinstalled driveres for most popular machines. Open Print Center in Applications: Utilities and see if the printer is named.

If not, go and download the latest driver for OSX for that specific model from HP.com ( the discs with printers often have out of date drivers on.) Follow the instructions.

The Mac will probably have the printer drivers preinstalled, but probably not software for the scanner. Just use the CD that came with the device to install HP's scanner tools. Or, just hop on HP's web site and download them.
