macOS Installing Tomcat 6.x for Netbeans 6.8

Hello,

I've been working on a project for a while now, mainly during working hours or a work laptop, now I need to finish it at home, but the only machine I have available is my MacBook Pro.

I've installed Netbeans 6.8 straight from the website, I noticed that unlike the Windows Installer, there is no custom option, and therefore, no visible way to install Tomcat.

When I loaded in my project, which I know compiled and ran 100% in the office several hours ago, 22 errors came up, mostly of them saying "package javax.servlet.http does not exist"

When I first loaded the project, I was presented with a dialogue stating I needed to configure a server myself, I right clicked on the project and followed that link, which asked me for the location of Catalina Home.

This is where i'm stuck, it appears there is a glassfish installation on my hard drive, but no Tomcat.

If anyone is able to provide a step-by-step guide on how I can go about setting it up, i'd be very grateful.

You are mistaken about the lack of a custom installation screen - did you download the right package from the NetBeans website, with the servers? Assuming you did, then run the NetBeans installer. Where you get past the license, click Customize. Here you can select Tomcat for installation.

If you didn't you can just download it from the Tomcat website and install it manually. It's pretty easy to do.
