I know that the Dev-Team released an update to Ultrasn0w a couple of days ago and I understand that it fixes the missing carrier logo problem. Is there any reason I can't install ultrasn0w just to get the carrier logo back even though I'm with an official carrier and don't need the unlock? I'm already using MakeItMine to put the AT&T logo in the status bar so it's not like I really need it, but I'm just wondering if there are any negatives to installing ultrasn0w for me.

sounds like your using 3.1.2 with the 3.0 baseband, all you would need to do since your using an official network is restore to 3.1.2 and jailbreak with blackra1n and your set

I should have posted more info. I'm actually already jailbroken at 3.1.2 using my own custom ipsw and I have baseband 4.26.08. Anyway, it looks like I can install ultrasn0w with no ill effects even though I'd only be installing it to get my carrier logo back.

cause your using at&t as your carrier you do not need to be using baseband 4.26.08 this was only needed for people who needed their devices unlocked and wanted to use 3.1.2.

if you restored to official 3.1.2 which has the latest baseband and jailbroke you wont need ultrasn0w

I realize that. The reason I wanted to keep my baseband at 4.26.08 is because I wanted to preserve my unlock for when I sell my phone down the road (more $). It's kind of a moot point since the newest baseband can be unlocked now anyway but that's only a recent development.

I'm not using BR because i want to increase the root partition and have a personalized boot logo. Not to mention, as we found out from PR when the next OS drops those of us who used PT will be able to jb and downgrade first.
