I went to BOOTCAMP, partitioned the correct space... inserted Vista CD.... entered product key... selected BOOTCAMP for where to be installed... then I'm stuck because it tells me that I must insert driver?? It says it can be a CD or USB?? Tried using a flash drive? Tried browsing to find the correct driver... nothing works... called the wonderful Apple people and they don't know either? Hmm... Please help me!

Installing Vista on iMac: "No Driver Found..." ??? I'm stuck!

ok maybe i'm just dumb but i have 2 install discs... when i put them in it makes no difference? it just tries to reinstall what i already have. the guy at best buy said something about a conversion program that you have to buy or could download it for free from the internet (he called it WINE)?? do I need to download that?
Once Boot Camp Assistant is done doing it's thing (in OS X), it should ask you to insert the Vista OS DVD then reboot and begin the installation. Once Vista is installed, you would then install the Leopard disc (I have the retail so it's only one DVD - if you have the gray restore discs that ship with the system, I believe it is the second one) which will install all the Apple-specific hardware drivers in Vista.
Ok... while the Vista CD is in... it asks me where I want to install it... thats where the problem comes in, it wants me to browse for a driver? And the CD will not eject unless I power it off and then back on again and hold down eject while it comes back on. Are you saying when it does that to just power it off and eject vista then put the 2nd disc in? I think I may have tried that already and it tells me to put the 1st one in? I'm so confused and frustrated!
The only time the Windows installation (XP or Vista) will ask for a driver is if it thinks you're trying to install on hardware that requires it. You haven't mentioned what you're trying to install it on? MacBook, iMac? Anyway, neither one needs a driver during initial installation and the drivers on the Leopard disk are not installed until after Vista is installed. BTW, it's the first Leopard DVD not the second that has XP and Vista drivers.
When it asks for a driver, have you tried to continue the installation anyway? What happens?
