I'm on a MBP 2011 with two separate drives - a 120 GB SSD that has OS X (Mavericks) and my applications on it, and a 1 TB HDD with my home folder on it (with all my documents, music, photos, videos, etc.)
I was thinking of installing Yosemite beta on a separate partition of my SSD (the startup drive). I have about 60 GB free on that, so I could easily partition off a 40 GB partition to install Yosemite on. But my question is will my new Yosemite partition be able to access all the applications on the Mavericks partition? And what about my home folder on my 1 TB HDD? Would I need to change any settings to make this work?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
