I have 3 devices, a 7 Plus, an SE, and a 9.7" Pro. The iPhones are both running 10.3.3 beta 6, and the iPad has 11 PB2. The 7 Plus previously also had 11 PB2.

Previously, regardless of which iPhone I had my SIM in, the other & the iPad would be able to initiate the Instant Hotspot connection. Now, neither phone shows up in the others' wifi under Personal Hotspot. I have to manually turn the hotspot on, and the connection appears in the normal list of available networks.

I've toggled wifi and bluetooth, restarted both phones, manually connected and then disabled personal hotspot. My account does have tethering enabled.

Any ideas? Please and thanks.

Instant Hotspot is tied to Apple ID/iCloud. Have you signed out of iCloud and back in on all devices? It might also be tied to Keychains in iCloud, make sure that is enabled.

I hadn't signed out of iCloud yet for fear of invoking the changed-apple-id beast (I changed the email of my Apple ID at one point. Literally just the "username" FWIW. Same Apple ID.), but I'm willing to give it a shot.

All 3 are signed into the same Apple ID and have Keychains and Handoff enabled (my iPhones didn't initially, actually).

My SE and 7 Plus got 10.3.3 final yesterday and guess what is magically appearing again, even on the iPad on 11 PB2?

Very interesting. Maybe it was just a random glitch that caused the devices not to see each other. Glad its all worked out though!

Yeah, I mean I'm happy that it's working as intended again, but I hate leaving this thread as one of those "Oh, it just started working for no apparent reason!" type deals that make searching frustrating.

Completely agree. I often see a lot of threads end like this, and its like "gahhh what happened?!", but sometimes you just can't control it. Like this one.

I was having this issue on 10.3.2 (not sure if it started before) re set all settings seemed to fix it for a while only for it to randomly disappear again. Since 10.3.3 it's back working as it should!

Who knows what was going on I'm just glad it's back
