Anyone try instapaper?

http://www.instapaper.com/ It allows you to read webpages to view offline later. Seems to work ok.

There's a free app and a "pro" app that costs $9.99.

Here's the link to the free App: http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuit...2Fwa%2FviewSoftware%3Fid%3D284942713%26mt%3D8

I have it, it's really useful, i use it at work to choose stuff thats interesting but that I don't then have time to read, however it doesn't work if your on a site that needs username/password access.

I have the free version, there looks to be a few cool features in the pro but I'm not prepared to pay that price.

Same as above. I really enjoy it and would get the paid version if it were half the price. But for tilt scrolling, it seems a bit much. Maybe with some extra features.

Question about this app:
When you save a page to "read later," does it only save that one screen, or will it also save screens it's linked to? There are lots of newspaper sites that will break down an article into several pages -- so I'm wondering if the app would save all the pages, or just the first one? (I realize ANY page has the potential for infinite links to other pages -- and it would be impossible for the app to save them all. Just wondering if it was "smart" enough to know if an article is segmented, and saves all of that, at least).

The "tilt scrolling" feature in the pro version looks really cool, and seems like a no-brainer for any e-book-reader-type app. Is Instapaper the only app that does this?

I'm with Randman... love the free app, but $10 is a little much for the pro version, imo. I think tilt scrolling would drive me nuts. If they built an RSS reader into it, did some sort of auto-updating service to get sites on a schedule, and/or offered a one or two link deep caching as well (maybe just text for the one link deep pages, and limited to the first 10 or 15 links on a page to save space/time). And they need to be the first 3rd party push app update when Apple release the upgrade with the push service.

I'd pay $5 or $10 get Digg/Reddit/Slashdot (well, some of their specific sub areas, at least) auto-updated daily, along with the story link and maybe the comments pages. As it is, Instapaper is a fun little tool that can be handy if you know you are going out of network range (wifi or cell depending on your device), like on an airplane or in the woods.

Both, sort of. To use it with instapaper, you need to save each page but the dynamic links all are saved so you can click on one and open the page in Safari if you wish.

I've bought the Pro version and it is incredibly handy. The different font sizes and font families is helpful for my bad eyesight, and the tilt scrolling feature works pretty good. It has definitely improved my web surfing experience. Being able to read an article at a restaurant that I didn't have time to before lets me stay up to date more.
