in IOS 12 under battery there is a ton of new info but there is NOT a way to know how many mins/hours you have used or been in standby since LAST full charge.

Someone please look at it and explain it to me, because all ANY Of us really need to know to compare battery life is to know EXACTLY how long we have used the phone either in usage or standby

SINCE
LAST
FULL
CHARGE

I dont see it, do you?

It's not there (so far) in iOS 12: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-12-and-battery-health.2125783/#post-26510879

I still don’t uunderstand how in the Battery section “Screen On” and “Screen off” are calculated. It says in the last 24 hours my “Screen off” time is only 3 minutes but that’s nonsense. I just had my screen off for the last hour.

Your phone was working for 3 minutes while the screen was off.

With the screen off, the phone still handles background tasks, HomePod tasks, Watch tasks, etc...

I believe that's usage time when the screen was off. It's all usage time now (broken down by screen on and off), based on hours and days (not since last charge or anything like that).

Gotcha, that makes sense

Thanks I understand it now

Yup. For example, had a workout where I went to the local coffee shop. Took me about 45 minutes to get there, and in that hour slice in the graph, shows, 44 minutes off-screen (combo of GPS tracker and Podcasts running), 9 minutes on (downloading podcasts, turning on GPS tracker, web surfing at coffee shop).

Which is more useful, imo. Time since last charge really does not tell anything. And if you look at the graphs, can pretty much see when you pulled off the charger: there is a green checker board pattern showing when you put the device onto a charger. And "Last Charge Level" value says when put on/taken off charger. Might be a little off on the "Last Charge Level" field: have not been OCD on battery stats, be it iOS 12 or earlier.

(ADD: just pulled the phone off charger, and "Last Charge Level" is ticking upward re: minutes since pulled from charger)

ADD2: really liking the new battery graphs and ability to drill down to what at a given time was using juice. No more guessing what was the problem child.

I bet they will add a "time since last charge" stat to satisfy people who don't remember when they last charged their phone.

Well, usage information since last charge tells you how the battery is doing, while that information for the past 24 hours doesn't really tell you as much in relation to that, just statistics about usage but not really correlated to battery as much. Most, if not all of what was added in relation to battery usage information in iOS 12 is welcome and can definitely be useful in one way or another, but that single measurement of overall usage (and overall time) since last charge certainly would be useful to have in addition to all that information, especially when we already had the benefit of that information for years and years now.

The new battery app is just a total mess. It looks pretty and there’s lots of information but it’s all fluff. All I want to know is how long my battery has lasted since I last charged it. That is all.
Well, it's not really a mess, and there are some useful things there, it's just too bad that a couple of fairly basic things that have been there for years got removed in the process for some reason.

As mentioned, the graphs shows as stipples to show when on charger. Some basic time math to calculate how long since last charge. But as also mentioned, appears as "Last Charge Level" replaces the old Standby field.

Last charge level doesn't really replace the standby field as it just tells you the time that it was taken off the charger, not how long it has been since it's been off the charger. Sure, they are related stats, but they aren't the same. And, sure, you can figure one out from the other, but that's not the same as simply having that number already there provided by the system as it has been for years.

I was about to make a thread on this. I barely got on iOS 12 and quickly realized how horrible the updated battery info is.

Wish they would change it back. All of these betas and they didn’t get negative feedback on this?

Haven’t charged in a day and this is all I get. o_O So dumb

If you tab over into the days view (eq last 10 days button) it will show you a graph of how much battery % you used per day. If you click on those bars (the green ones) it will filter down to just that day and show you the screen on time for that day. Not exactly what you want but close.

For instance, my phone has used about 65-70% battery charge today with screen on time being 7h 11 min. The % is hard to see but I think it only calculates actual battery drain and not usage while charging though not sure on that entirely. Anyway, it gives you some idea.

Actually I'm pretty sure it doesn't distinguish screen time and usage while charging so it will vary depending on how often your phone finds an outlet that day.
