"Insufficient space"

When I try to backup my iPhone to iCloud I get a message that there is insufficient space, despite the fact there is 3.6Gb free and the iPhone is only trying to backup 217Mb of data.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I'm going to save you some time. I had a similar issue. I was told to back up my phone using my computer. Then on my phone, turn off iCloud back up so that it wipes the iCloud info clean, then turn it back on so it's all fresh information. Just to let you know, it didn't fix my issue.
