Hi all I just bought a Macbook Air Rev B 1.6 Ghz

I found it on google shopping and bought from Ecomelectronics with no tax or shipping fee...the guy tried to up sell me for an 4 year insurance plan with CPS - Consumer Priority Service, they have a website too.

Is it legitimate? Does anyone know if they are any good?

I've bought this kind of insurance in the past but i'v never had to used them...I wonder if they actually do anything when i actually need something...

Anyway, what insurance should I get? What are your experiences?? THANK YOU!!!

if you're looking for extended warranty, why don't you just go with AppleCare? assuming they are a legitimate Apple Reseller. You can check your serial number against the Apple website database, see if you're still eligible for AppleCare and maybe register it under your name too. :apple:

Are you looking for something that includes damage protection or just a hardware warranty? If it is just hardware warranty then get AppleCare.

Well, extended warranty wouldn't be enough for the MBA in most occasions. It is after all a tiny machine and minor things from the outside can affect its functionality.

I went with an all risk insurance that covers all the damages, so that's what I can recommend, and if you're lucky you can find a company that also covers the battery life.

Thank you all very much.

Ideally, I want something that covers damage and theft too, since i'll be traveling with it internationally at least a few times a year.

But my work always buy a travel insurance from Seven Corners so i wonder if that should cover it too.

BTW, my boyfriend just got mugged of his iphone. He worked out of a subway station in broad daylight on MLK day, three teenage boys just snatched the phone off his hand with the headphone and ran off. He ran after them and got tripped to the floor!! Other people waiting at a bus stop just stood there and watch...

With the economy this bad, i think crime is only going to be more and more prevalent, which is why i am thinking of buying such an insurance...which i don't normally think of...

Just make sure your insurance covers any possible scenarios. A damage insurance plan may not cover theft.
