Typically AT&T does not insure phones valued over $300, which excludes all of their smartphones. You will most likely have to insure the phone through private property insurance (NOT homeowners. The deductibles will be the cost of a new iPhone and you will pay many times over in increased premiums.)

WOW...SEE I AM WITH SPRING RIGHT NOW AND I ALWAYS INSURE MY PHONES JUST INCASE .....HMMMM
WELL GUESS I HAVE TO BE EXTREMLEY CAREFUL aye....i'm so stoked for this deal......

see that's what i was thinking myself but no one said anything about apple care...for sure ...i will definately pick up apple care....

Really? That's lame. I have insurance on my WM device from Verizon, and it definitely cost more than $300.

I'm really hoping AppleCare Protection Plan rolls out for iPhone. AT&T isn't going to insure it, as of now. Maybe they will release a special insurance option? They're the only service provider, they may as well bank while they can.

They haven't allowed insurance on any expensive phone they've had an exclusive on in the past, don't see it happening now...

Just get personal property insurance. for about $150/yr you can get $15,000 of coverage for anything you own, laptop, iPod, phones, clothing, etc. It's worth it.

This topic has like three other threads posted about it already. I know it's hard with the iPhone mania, but please use the search function.

No one has any more specifics right now, besides.

$150/yr with what deductible? May not be worth it....

If Applecare becomes available, it will definitely NOT cover theft, water damage, cosmetic damage, or damage caused by the user. This is standard for ALL Applecare contracts, regardless of product. The only reason I personally would buy APplecare is to protect against hardware defects that could show up past the standard warranty,.:apple: :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple:
