Hello all:

So, I think I've tricked out my Mac Pro quite a bit already. But I'm obsessed with the thing. I was dead set on an Accelsior b/f Intel released the 910. I've used X-25Es since they were first released and I can confidently say that they are vastly superior to MLC drives. Of course, the 910 is an MLC drive, but, apparently, of vastly improved quality.

No - I'm not and artist or a scientist, but data preservation is critical to my profession. Yes - RAIDs and Time Machine, I know. But is there any justification for an enterprise grade drive like the 910 (outside of the obvious - data centers, etc.)?

TIA

Absolutely none at all.

Only when you want to do multiple 1080p streams do cards like that even come close to being worth it.

Find an Intel 320 or 520 series or Samsung 830 series SSD.

and if you want a bootable pci-ssd you have the accelsior from macsales.com. The intel ones are not as useable from a mac-perspective.
