So a while ago I was checking my hard drive with Disk Utility and it came up saying: "Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit"

So I did a erase and install of OS X and I checked the hard drive again, and it said it was fine. That was about a week ago. I checked it again today and it's giving me the same message as before. I don't want to backup everything I have on my iBook and erase and install OSX again! Any ideas on how to repair it?

Phone apple, you need a new one if it keeps giving that error message - back-up tour data NOW just for safety

Dang, I was hoping I didn't need a new HD... oh, well .. I'll call Apple in the morning.

Yeah, I was wondering what apathy had to do with a bad hard drive. Weird.
