I am looking for a new or used intel imac. I would like it to have at the very least 1 gb. of Ram, and the stock hd will be just fine. 17 inch or 20 inch with the warranty still in effect. I will be purchasing the Applecare later on. I have a 17 inch HP multimedia laptop, that was given to me for college, but I really don't want/need it. If you are interested in it that would be great.

The iMac just needs to be in good condition, extra software would be great (windows Xp is most important.) I will pay more if the computer has Xp built in. I will be looking to purchase soon.

I feel like I'm leaving something out, oh well :)

You should put this in the Marketplace. Also do a search in the marketplace to find one for sale. I was talking to someone about a 17" a few weeks ago, may still be up there.

Yeah I was going to post in the Marketplace, but there is that 100 post minimum thing, guess I should learn to talk more:rolleyes:

Thanks for your input.

Yeah when I first came I wanted to get in the marketplace and post. However, I picked up a 20" intel imac from someone here just from searching.

I did post like crazy though, and made it to 100 rather quickly. Try to do 10 a day and you will be in, in no time. Good luck to you.

lol yeah I'll start posting a little more. I just figure that I would try to get a mac here instead of ebay, since most people that come here tend to know more/take care of their systems. How long have you had you mac, are you satisfied?

Thanks for your input Kevin.

Overall I am satisfied. I got my 20" for $1400. This saved me about $100 opposed to going with an Apple Refurb. There is one stuck pixel. The seller says it wasn't there when he had it, so it could be from the shipment. I am thinking I may be able to get it replaced though as it is still under warranty.

eBay is good too though. You can usually get relatively new macs that are in very good condition very cheaply. They are usually switchers who just couldn't do it. Just make sure you look over the auction well and ask any questions you may have.

I got a iBook G4 last year, 1.33Ghz, 100GB, 1GB for $950 and it was immaculate. I am sure most people here will take good care of there things too. Take the same precautions though, Ask for references or heat. Ask any and all questions, even you are repetitive sometimes. I am very apprehensive about buying from someone with no aparent protection. However it can be very rewarding. This is part of the reason there is a post limit. So people can establish themselves, and it protects against and noobie coming in and ripping someone off.

You should easily be able to pick up a stock 17" for around $1100. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the links. What is this on ebay where people are selling new imacs with extras for like $1000, is this legit?
