On my Mac, I mostly play games like the Sims 2 and lots of other things like that. I run Sims 2 at the moment on my 1.33 GHz PowerBook G4 with 256 MB of memory (I know that needs upgrading:D ) and it runs just a tad slow. I was wondering what performance would be like on the new MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini would be like as they will have to use Rosetta to run it. Will it be slower, faster, same? Thanks.

My Intel iMac (2Ghz , 2Gb RAM, 256Mb graphics) runs games under rosetta slightly faster than my old 700Mhz G4 eMac, which is to say, not too well with any level of graphic detail or resolution.

The difference between the UB and Rosetta is startling, even with bags of RAM.

That said, it is noticeably quicker.

i dont own an intel mac, but id say your better off waiting till universal games are released before doing serious gaming on an intel machine. At the moment, ur PB would surpass MBP under rosetta performance. You would see a dramatic increas in ur PB performance if u maxed the RAM too
