Hello. I am a little confused about the whole intel mac switch.. my uncle needs a new compituer desperately... he is in the promotional business so he is often dealing with images. He is a new computer user. I would like to switch him to a mac soon, but with this intel switch what does it mean? Will he be able to install windows and dual boot that way he can still use windows if he really needs to? That would be ideal for him because i think there is some windows software he needs, where virtual pc wouldnt be great.

Apple have said they wont do anything to stop people installing other OSes on their Intel Macs. How easy it is to install Windows on an Intel Mac though who knows?

Yeah, he will probably be able to do so, but I don't think he'll need to if he's using a Mac. A Mac isn't the best tool for every profession (software reasons), but if he's dealing with images often, that's one area where he won't have to switch to Windows to accomplish. Ever. ;)

So for that reason, he probably doesn't even need to wait for an Intel Mac. Any machine he gets now will last him for years and years.
