Having upgraded my 1.66 Core Duo Mini to 2Gb of ram, I'm looking to get a faster hard drive. I cannot decide between a 2.5" 7200 rpm internal (such as the Seagate Momentus) or 3.5" 7200 rpm Samsung Spinpoint (in a miniStack or similar) via firewire.
My main aim is to improve system performance whilst maintaining quiet operation. Size isn't an issue (
) as my old XP machine is now stuffed full of hard drives and acts as a server. Going to stick a faster merom CPU in there as well sooner or later, so would also be interested to know which option would be better for keeping heat down (incase faster CPU runs hotter).
