I setup a RAID 0 with two Intel SSD 320 drive and I am consistently getting faster write speeds then read. Is this normal? My stripe size is 128k. What the latest word on the proper stripe size for the intel 320 drives? I remember someone doing a benchmark with all the different sector sizes but can not longer find that thread.

WHAT are you getting for your numbers?

I think that 128 is the fastest setting for intel IIRC. i

know the drives spec at 270 read and 220 write. which would make you think the 540 read and 440 write would be your max numbers for long reads and writes.

Here is the snapshop of Xbench.

Perhaps only one of the drives is holding the data that is being read, while you are using both drives to write. Probably more of an issue with the benchmarking software than anything else.

Is there something better then Xbench to test the speed of the RAID?
