Apple takes these brand new chips, assembles them into an inferior enclosure, and ships them out the door.

To the average consumer, who may not know any better, they now find the "2.9" or "i9" a failed piece of equipment.

Now when this consumer shops for a new machine, they may very well skip over anything with an i9.

Intel is only one of the part suppliers. It's mainly Apple that looks bad when a Mac doesn't perform as well as it should, with regard to the CPU or any other aspect.

Agreed, would look bad on Apple, not Intel.

Average consumer knows squat re: what Intel processor is what.
