Intel to introduce quad-core chips Nov 13

Apparently they will debut in HP workstations. Methinks an octo-core Mac Pro can't be far behind?

What dumb name will Intel give these chips? Core 2 Duo 2? Core x2 Duo? Core Quadro?

4 core workstation chips: Xeon 5300 series.

Yummy, glued CPUs!

Seriously, this is the worst way to go about dualcore/quadcore. Intels just kicking themselves in the pants again, just like they did with the Pentium D.

All the Quads are is the Dual-Core models glued together with silicon. They are rather slow to talk to each other, as they have to go via the bus.
