I've deleted and reinstalled a 100 times and it still does it on my macbook. It never did this when I ran the Rosetta version. Does anyone know where I can download the old VLC versions? I can only find the old windows versions.

Valhalla!
Buggy PowerPC version over here, I get error messages and just fuzz on certain videos, though some are of questionable origin.

It doesn't like skipping ahead through AVIs either, either clocks off or I get lots of error messages.

I only use it to play AVIs so it doesn't affect me too much!

Mine is buggy also. Definitely does not like to skip forward. Mainly use it for limewire porn....so maybe god or my mac is trying to tell me something?:p

I just recently installed VLC as everyone has said it is one of the essential mac apps (new to Mac here), but when I try to skip or scroll forward, it will always pop up error messages. If I try to play fullscreen, it crashes.

Not impressed...

speaking of VLC

Have been loving VLC! Options that are normally unavailable are sound. Although, Yes I agreed with the buggy-ness of the program all seem to mention about the player.

This is my dilemma at the moment.
Upon downloading this program I was initially unable to stream my desired live audio webstream and had to tool around with the settings. Not really knowing what I was doing, as I am a mac novice myself, I used the fail-proof trial and error method and changed settings until I reached my desired result. It worked perfectly!

My problem is the setting that I changed affected the built-in player used in Safari- I have no idea what this is called, nor do I know what type of file it is (.mvi, .wmv, ect.). Now when I try and view videos on certain websites it simply shows a black background with the simple phrase of (no picture). Under normal cirumstances I can coax the VLC player to work properly. This is not the case for the particular website I encountered tonight.

Upon trying to play this video the VLC player begins to trip itself on many errors that can not even stop itself from loading properly.

Is there anyway to restore the settings so that I may view video on the built in player? What settings would cause the built in players in both Safari and Firefox to result in a (no picture) message. I've done research on this and can only find troubleshooting when there is no picture and only audio. This is not the case, it simply will not load anything.

Is there any answer where I can manually change the settings myself in order to support the VLC player whenever possible?

I appreciate any help in advance.

Thank You,
Marie
