Hi peeps,

This is my first post in here, so excuse me if I get the format wrong (or should post in some other place )

My Girlfriend and I are looking for a game that suits us both.

The short version;
**************
Im looking for a D2-type game WITH optional first person view AND "friendly fire" AND intelligent AI

The detailed question;
*****************

What game to get?

I have been playing WoW - but its much too demanding in time.
I am still after 10 years an active D2 player :D but my girlfriend cant relate to the small characters or the environment - she needs a first person view.
I cant play in first person view (gets carsick SO fast).
The AI has to be more intelligent than WoW and D2

Need:
- Run on Mac
- Multiplayer, at least 2 in Coop
- Role playing / character selection
- Not a monthly fee (WoW is out)
- Not "little tiny men fighting" (D2 is out)
- Beautiful world
- Not bound to first person view only
- More than a FPS (level-up, trading etc.)
- Not very bloody (Girl friendly)
- Intelligent AI (no more mobs/creatures standing idle when you attack their buddies)

Nice (not a requirement):
- Friendly dragons (girlfriends wish )
- More than 2 players in game (social aspect)
- Run also on PC (so our kids can also play with us)
- Free, or free after buy (like D2)
- First person view AND Isometric view option (to suit our different preferences)
- "Realistic magic" ;)
- Intelligent fighting, such as
1) Ranged aiming (not just mouse-lock and then click click click untill dead),
2) Solid bodies (no rude "running through each other", and also enabling realistic knockback,
3) Friendly fire (don't throw a fireball at the boss when the melee tank is right next to him, and be careful with that blade! You might hurt a friend!)
- Mounts like horses and DRAGONS she yells

We were kinda hoping D3 will work for us - but the isometric view is a killer for my girlfriend..

If only the game developers would listen to the less common need - then maybe they would stop releasing so many similar games?

I hope SO much YOU have the answer :apple:

PLEASE NO POSTS LIKE; "Then game X is not for you".... ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE POSTS - AND STAY ON THE TARGET PEEPS :)

You should consider Borderlands. It's an FPS with lots of RPG elements, and is great for co-op play.

I've always hated the locked isometric views in those early RPGs too. Borderlands (as suggested) is pretty good coop, but it's not your usual RPG. I mostly play it on the 360. I wish Skyrim was coop. :(

D3= Diablo 3, won't let you change the view angle/zoom? At least an option to lock it in isometric or allow a change of camera angle as in WoW. :(:(

Seems like Neverwinter Nights 2 is the way to go.
Controls are close to WoW, but not as refined, but there is also an option to play in isometric view.

The game is about 5 years old, so graphics are a bit dated.
It does have multiplayer and you can play the whole single player campaign together. You can play it on PC too. The game has friendly fire, but you can set how much it affects friendly players and even turn if off.
The character customizations are vast. You have several different types of melee, ranged or caster classes and you can make custom multi classes. You can also be both human, elf, dwarf, etc.., male or female.

I don't think the mac version has all campaigns available for PC tho, but main campaign is quite long (I think I used about 50-60 hours).

The game starts a bit slow, the tutorial part is quite boring, but gets very good after awhile.
