Interactive DVD on iPad

Hi

I was wondering if it was possible to convert and put an interactive DVD onto an iPad and view it somehow? When I say interactive I just mean one with menus and stuff which you would normally click, but instead could touch.

Normally, you would need to rip the dvd to an iso file to do this on a laptop. The ISOs would be 2 - 4gb in size. On a laptop, you would mount the ISO so it appears as a normal drive, and then open your dvd player software. Since the ipad does not support external DVD drives, the built in player probably won't support reading from one even if you could mount the ISO. Most people will rip and re-compress to save space, so there is probably not a huge demand for such a custom player. Look at OPlayer.

Its claim is to play MKV files which when played on a desktop computer can include the menus. Hopefully this is a push in the right direction. I have no experience with the OPlayer myself, but have seen it on the app store and was intrigued since it supports many video formats (and wouldn't require a conversion from whatever original format my videos are in whether AVI from my point-click camera or other sources)

Please note, I have NOT tried this myself. MKV is a wrapper for the actual codecs and audio files and may or may not play in the same way using OPlayer on the iPad as VLC or MPlayer on the MacOS or Windows.

If anyone has experience with an MKV file that included menus from a DVD, please chime in. Or if you try it and it works or doesn't please respond with your results.
