I was JB'd on 2.2.1, but figured I would upgrade to 3.0 and wait for quickpwn.....really the only thing I'm missing out on is winterboard and Tricker3G for my slingplay. Whatev. So, prior to 3.0, I had been using the iNav theme which uses categories. Well....Part of the install process is to manually add all these blank icons to get everything situatedon the screen right.
well....un-categorized everything before JB, and undid my iNav theme before I upgraded to 3.0. I even deleted a bunch of the blank app icons. I then did a full backup. Then, I did a full restore (because my download of 3.0 somehow corrupted).....and on another computer (because of the corrupted IPSW and I couldn't find where iTunes stored it) did the upgrade successfully to 3.0. When I went back to my original PC and restored the backup during the phone setup, a strange thing happened......Every one of the blank icon apps that were put on my phone through SSH during the iNav install way back when.....WHERE THERE!!!
And oddly enough, even if I delete them.....when I cycle power, the come back. Makes me wonder if there isn't a way to restore APPS that have been installed dur JB the same way??
Just figured I would pass on this strange story.....
