Interesting things that "stuck around" even after a RESTORE, then backup

JB'd my 3GS a few weeks ago and noticed MAPS was missing. Gone. No idea what happened. So I figure the only way to get it back is to restore, copy from back-up, then re-JB. I'm just about to JB it again but I've noticed a few 'tweeks' from the JB have stuck around!

1. Make it Mine - still shows my customization
2. Whatever battery indicator pkg I installed (don't recall) ...still shows % battery life.
3. One thing I noticed post-JB and is probably related to lockscreen or winterboard or a combination....is that the screen doesn't go to 'sleep' for a good while compared to a non-JB phone. And I'm now noticing that trend has continued, even though I've restored the phone and it currently is NOT jailbroken.

Maybe this is common knowledge ? Any explanation for this? Thanks

The first to things will occur unless you put the device into DFU mode first and then do the restore.

That sounds right. You restored from a backup, using those files from those applications. This happens all the time.

Unless you want that stuff back, you have to choose "restore as new phone".

You can still sync all your stuff back, but this gets rid of all the hangers-on from JB.
