I have a number of UK TV series on DVD that I'd like to import via HandBrake to watch on Apple TV. But what I don't understand is that no setting makes it look right.
I actually work in TV so understand the i/p, 576/720/1080, 24, 25, 50, 60 blah blah stuff.
What I don't get is that, if I play the DVD on my DVD player into my HDTV, it looks absolutely normal - motion looks fine.
If I import it using handbrake, it doesn't matter what settings I use, the motion either looks stuttered (deinterlaced), combed (interlaced) or oddly over-smoothed ('Apple TV' preset).
So why can't it just look the same as it does when playing on a DVD player??
