Interleaf/Quicksilver: any info?

Broadvision Quicksilver. Used to be called Interleaf.

Is no longer available for Mac, but I need to learn in for a client of mine that uses it. I know nothing about it. And there is so little info about it on the Internet. I read it used to be used by Apple for their online support tech docs, but Apple switched to InDesign when they discontinued the Mac version.

So does anyone know anything about Quicksilver? Why is there so little information on it? Who is using it? Someone has to or they wouldn't make any money.

Any info or tidbits would be great. Thanks!

Wow. There's a name I haven't heard for a long time. The main thing I remember about Interleaf is that it was way too expensive to actually get. I assume this is still the case? (I used Framemaker myself until Adobe killed the mac product).

I know that's not very useful.

Interleaf was the first WYSIWYG platform for business as I recall. It combined text editor with a graphics capability that was on par with what FreeHand and Illustrator were offering at the time. It was super expensive ($10,000 + per seat) and so Framemaker, at $800 or so, eventually trounced it in the marketplace.

I think Interleaf was bought out in 2001 and became Quicksilver.

That's about all I know on it.

I have been playing with Quicksilver for the past couple of days. Reminds me of a program from the early 90s. I don't know how they stay in business with everyone using InDesign or FrameMaker.

Actually it reminds me of Mac System 9 or 8--the cabinet, folders, etc.

Not very intuitive to say the least.
