So I just got the 2018 9.7 inch iPad from amazon with the $249 deal and I’m already noticing that the home button is having a problem, I think. It only seems to respond if I press it right in the middle of the button. If I press it a little off center to the left or right it doesn’t respond.

Has anyone experienced this before? I couldn’t find anything else on this anywhere.

Would amazon be able to exchange it for a new one or do I need to return it and buy another? Or should I go into Apple?

Looking up the serial number says the iPad was just made the week of November 5th, so it’s definitely a new iPad...it came in a new box and has the correct warranty start date.

Amazon is usually pretty good about returns, I would call them and explain the issue, see if you can "buy" a new one to have it shipped out to you and then return the old one.

Either that, or call Apple and go through their replacement options. Not sure what options they'll give you since you bought third party but I know they'll give you options too.
