Dropped my iPhone 6 about a week ago, shattering the glass. I was still able to use the phone (screen protector was keeping all the glass pieces in place), so continued to use the phone until my appointment at the Genius Bar yesterday. I went for my appointment today and paid the £79 to have the screen replaced.

However, I am now having problems with the 'touch' part of the screen being unresponsive intermittently. It doesn't seem to make any difference what I'm doing at the time, it just randomly stops responding, and the only way to make it responsive again is to press the sleep button and then unlock the phone again.

I don't really want another visit to the Apple Store, so I was wondering what I could try first (without taking the phone apart).

Any ideas?

You just paid £79 to have your screen replaced and you don't want to take it back to the Apple Store so they can make it right? It's a hardware problem, take it back. ;)

Thanks. It's not that I don't want to take it back as such, it's that it's a 40 mile trip each way to take it back so with car parking, gonna cost me £20 to take it back to the store.

Give them a call first to make sure, but any replacement parts by Apple are warranted for 90 days. I can understand your reluctance to driving and paying for parking/fuel, but I don't see that you have any other choice.

I've had the same issue with my iPhone 6 screen after I got it replaced. Something with the digitizer connection went wrong or the screen was not good quality. In any case I went back to the store (http://itechwireless.ca)they replaced it with an original screen and started working as normal again. I keep telling people beware of aftermarket non genuine screens, they ruin the iPhone experience big time. Might as well get an android.
