Internal/external speakers issue after restart

Hello All
I just noticed a issue with my mac pro
Sound is always coming back from internal speaker after restart
Wen I go to system preferences and switch it to line out it starts working again
Until I restart the computer and I have to redo it again
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

try deleting the two plist files in /Library/Preferences/Audio and then rebooting.
