If wondering, I have my finger on the "buy 21.5" i3 iMac box" button. Just need to get my online account fixed and I'll be placing my order soon.

---------------

Within historical posts, I noticed a pattern of "my IMac is running too hot" threads. Some replies recommend the install of a 3rd party fan speed control program (that seem to work great) and others replying that iMacs don't run "too hot". Even on extreme hot temperature days, their iMac internals are within 80% of their max internal temp limit. This pattern was on the older 2009 / early 2010 models.

With the new iMacs and their updated Video and CPUs (which run hotter then previous internals), I wonder if the internal venting was modified as well? For example, better cooling fans, more vent holes or ???? Something "better" inside to help cool them down as well.

I currently see a few threads comparing performance of old and new iMacs. Focus on CPU speeds and best buy for the dollar. Thus, why I'm now focusing on the i3 model. Appreciate if someone can build / publish an "internal temperature" comparison chart as well. Especially if one can compare the old and new iMac internal temps - based on their hotter internal parts.

thanks.
