I use Logic, Komplete (Native Instrument Suite of Soft Synths and effects), Reason, and will probably buy a couple more Soft Synths in the future. I ordered the 6-core, 16 GB RAM, D500s, 512MB SSD. I know there is another thread by a sound guy, but his needs are far beyond mine (he's wanting a very large, fast external raid setup with multiple terabytes of storage for his samples). I can probably fit all my samples (right now) on the internal SSD of my nMP (when I get it) along with my OS, Apps and Home Directory.
My question is should I install the samples on my internal drive, or get an external TB2 SSD (or something else) for my samples? What are the advantages/disadvantages of either choice? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
