I'm in the US and buyer is in Canada. he's trying to send payment via my email address but says I'm unable to accept international payments. I've seen where I need to manage currencies in my wallet but that's been done and he's still getting the error.

does anyone else know a way I can accept payments from international buyers?

I have a regular paypal account since 2005.

thanks for any help.

Try having him send it as a gift and not a payment.

finally called them and they were no help. the guy didn't know how or why i couldn't accept international payments. he advised the buyer to call paypal. I reached out to their help team via Twitter and they knew right away.

-log onto paypal on a computer
-bottom left of the page under Selling Tools > Seller Preferences
-a new page pops up and it's under Getting paid and managing my risk > Block payments

there's where you would make the changes.

so phone paypal doesn't work - twitter does.

This, some question are better asked to the service provider than an interner forum.
thanks but see my reply above yours. figured with a lot of members from other countries, it would be easier and maybe quicker than speaking to a robot for 5mins then holding for another 30 to speak to a human. I was also trying to put my toddler asleep so holding for 30 minutes wasn't an option. i called the following day (yesterday) and was advised it would be a 40 minute hold. opted for them to call me back. when they did, the call didn't last 3 minutes because he didn't know why i couldn't accept international payments and told me to tell the buyer to call them.

at the same time, i had reached out to them via twitter direct message. they got back to me yesterday afternoon and it only took one reply to get the answer. even searching on their community forums offered no help as many others have asked the question but none have been answered.

so yes the obvious would have been to contact them as i did but figured i could possibly get a quicker response on here (and other forums i'm apart of).
