Hello folks - first (or second) post here but been reading a lot.

I have an 8Gb iPhone which I successfully activated / unlocked / jailbroken using iLiberty following advice on this forum - great stuff. Had a little issue as my OTB was 1.1.12 - but eventually got it to 1.1.14 without activating and then iLiberty was a very quick and painless process.

I have tested it with a Vodafone SIM and it all works fine - I currently use my own £15/month o2 sim in it which means I can send and recieve MMS (using Swirly) etc - better than the real thing!

Anyway - is there any reason to suspect that this phone will not allow me to roam internationally - in the same was a my old N73 would pick up foreign networks where o2 have agreements in place?

I am going to Florida on Holiday in a few weeks - is there a reason why the iPhone might not work? i have read about country codes and stuff - hence the difficulties in buying "approved unlocked" devices from France / germany?

should I take the N73 instead? am I just being paranoid?

Any advice or experiences would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Yea would like to know about this too as im going to Aus for 7 weeks soon and would like my iPhone just in case!

works fine here, i'm at this moment in orlando, florida on vacantion, bought and unlocked my phone here.
all works fine with my dutch orange sim card. including roaming of gprs data.
you just need to enable roaming data in the edge settings.

Dont ENABLE roaming! Turn off EDGE!

You are paying over £8 a megabyte - before you know it your bill will be hundreds so it will work but I don't suggest you use it.
