I'm traveling back home to Grenada tonight and was wondering if I should take the iPhone or switch sims back to my other phone.. if I take the iPhone, and turn data roaming off, what other charges should I expect from ATT, besides international roaming? any other suggestion, or helpful info? thanks!

iPhone doesn't work in some countries, the phone portion might crash in those cases.
With a jailbroken iPhone (and you should unlock at the same time), you can install a fix for travling outside the supported countries.

I do get ATT coverage when I'm there, that's not an issue. I'm wondering what else I should worry about doing besides turning off data roaming (i.e. extra charges) and I'd never jailbreak nor void my warranty with apple or ATT.
ive sorted out the charges issues, but still curious if turning off data roaming will still allow the ability to send and receive txt messages? anyone know?
Yes you can send and receive texts with data roaming off. I do it all the time in Canada.
Turning data roaming off just means you'll be limited to the basic phone connectivity, so making/receiving phone calls and sending/receiving SMS/MMS, except obviously when you're on wi-fi. I don't know what AT&T charges for those because I'm in the UK with O2, but when I was abroad texts came out of my normal allowance, with the caveat being that one text from abroad took four out of the allowance.

Nonsense. Why would a network NOT support any GSM phone that supports the proper frequencies? My gosh some people act as if the iphone is an exception to the rules that every GSM has to follow or that it doesn't work like every other GSM phone....
