Hello,

seems just recently (with the latest software update?) my macbook pro 2.0 (1st generation) looses it's ability to connect to the internet through airport...

a current macbook has no such problem on the same network...

-it seems to be all of a sudden, the internet just disappears from the macbook pro. it is still connected to the network. turning off the airport and turning back on again doesn't help. network diagnostics don't help.... no email, no internet, no chat....

anyone else?

i have to restart it to get the internet back!

mine acted weird once after the airport extreme update. it worked first (d-link 624 router) then a couple hours later, it disconnected from the wireless network, and each time i tried to connect i got an error message "error connecting to the network". i gave up and used ehternet for an hour or some and then tried again and it worked.

I'm still gettiing this problem. sometimes once a day, sometimes more then once....

disappearing internet on macbook pro, only comes back after restart.

other computers connect no problem....

... another intermittent problem with my first gen macbook pro....
... that applecare can't acknowledge because it is intermittent!

thanks,
r.

I have a very similar problem every once in a while where my wireless connection just drops on my MacBook. If I turn it off and then back on again its all good for a few days. I thought the problem was being caused by a dashboard widget that I was using a while back but the problem has just started again recently. I also have a MacBook Pro and it has only happened on that once. I have this happen when connected to different routers too so I know its not my router or anything.

one way to check if it's your laptop or the router is to try with a deifferent one. maybe you could borrow one form a friend and see if it makes a difference (preferably a different brand / model).

my ladies macbook gets on fine. so it is my laptop, not the router.

and i do have all the updates.
and it's an airport extreme ( not the newest) and 2x airport express network)

Do you have all the latest updates? There was an issue with a firmware update a month or so ago:

If you have all the updates it is probably your wireless router or modem.

I upgraded to a D-Link "N" router and I don't have any problems but I did with my older WEP-only (no WPA) set-up.
