I'm about to install XP under Boot Camp on a C2D Macbook, but I was wondering whether I need to have an internet connection? I don't have any Windows anti-virus software, and I don't need to use the internet in Windows at all, as I'm just installing it to play a few games.
I assume the Mac drivers CD install everything that is required and no updates or anything need to be downloaded.
Also, my Mac connects to cable internet wireless via an Airport Express (plugged into a cable modem). To stop Windows accessing the internet and getting fried with viruses from the start, when I install Boot Camp/Windows should I turn the Airport Express off, so Windows doesn't try and set up a wireless network immediately?
I don't know much about Windows security (being a life-long Mac user), but I've heard that the mere act of just connecting to the internet exposes Windows to viruses, spyware, etc, without the user doing anything like web browsing or downloading.
