Ive been plagued by internet disconnects recently on my blackbook. After 2-3 hours of gaming it will get extremely hot and while connected to wireless it will screen shift a little bit and then go back to normal but after appearing to be normal there will be no internet connection even though the wireless signal will remain strong.
At first I thought it was a WoW issue as do dozens of other people.
Now Im not so sure as it has been happening more frequently.
It happens much more often when the mb is plugged in but happens when its unplugged as well.
My question. Does leaving the mb plugged in while running graphics intensive apps such as games create more heat? The heat on the side of the ports and plug seem 10x hotter than the other side. Does a macbook run off of the outlet when its plugged in or does it still go through the battery? Could it be tipping the scale on the heat threshold?
What can i do to keep this bugger from overheating (i believe) and is it reason to have it checked out as im within my 1 year. What can be done for me? Id hate to think that i can only game hardcore for 2-3 hours without taking a 1/2 hour off for cooldown!
