Was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to why my Internet Explorer hang when starting up.

I've used it for years ever on OS X. Sometimes it would hang while loading a page, but very rarely. Never a problem as I would simply force quit and then re-load.

Well it did this the other day, only now it hangs when starting up, and I assume loading the default microsoft startup page. The progress bar gets 3/4 along - then nothing and I have to force quit.

I've tried:

Force quit restart
dumping history file
dumping cache
dumping pref file

To make matters worse - on my second bootable partion - the copy of Explorer there does the same!!!!

Me no understando:mad:

Any ideas / help??

cheers

I agree! Get Firefox! :)

Safari, Camino, Firefox.....anything but IE! Unless you need it for something specific, but even then one of the other browsers should do the job. Have you tried reinstalling IE? Are all of your settings optimized for your internet connection?

There's honestly no reason at all to use IE now. I guess I could see using it if it was the only browser that existed for OS X, but it's not. There are lots of other great browsers out there. Firefox is just my personal favorite.
