Hello.

I am really hoping someone can help me. I basically can't use any 3rd party plugins on my Intel Mac. These are the browsers I have:

Deerpark (Firefox for Intel Macs)
Safari
Shiira

I've installed Flip4Mac but Quicktime still doesn't "understand" wmv and wma files. I also have WMP 9 for OSX installed.

I can't view any flash content even though I've installed Flash Player 8 for OSX. It just runs through the installation and then when I visit a flash website, Safari will show up ?'s instead of flash content. Firefox says "Click here to install plugin" and just redirects me to the Macromedia website.

The only streaming video I can view is quicktime content.

I've even updated to Tiger 10.4.5.

What am I doing wrong? Please guide me.

Thanks.

Flip4Mac and WMP are PPC only for now. Neither will work.

The one you downloaded is PPC only as well. Apple includes a universal version in every machine, there should have been no need to download a Flash plugin.

Someone else did the same thing for Flash not too long ago, do a search on the boards and you should find it. As for WMV files try one of the VLC nightlies for x86, they're sometimes buggy but work more often than not. Keep in mind this is for files only and won't work as a browser plugin and not to expect it to play everything.

Thank you for posting that zip file. I didn't realize that the macbook was shipping with a working version of Flash. When I installed the Macromedia suite, it had written over the previously installed version.
