I'm seeing the same issue on both my Apple TV 2 and the new ver. 3 that I just got yesterday. About half the time I click on the Radio icon, I get "Loading Internet Radio Stations," but it never goes anywhere. The other half, I see my presets and the different categories, but when I click on anything, I see the message "Cannot access Internet Radio stations. Check your configuration and try again." Is anyone else here seeing this? Everything else Internet-wise works great on both boxes right now.

The EXACT same thing is happening to me.

It started working again this morning on my ATV2, and on the ATV3, a restart brought things back to working order :)

Same problem with my ATV2 - rebooted many times but still nothing. But at least the update seems to have fixed my Netflix problems....

Apple TV sensitive to Lots of stuff

I've also had many of the problems similar to those stated in this thread - so here's what I have found (some of it may sounds hokey, but since implementing these points it appears to work)

1. Do Not - implement power conserving features on the computer that the Apple TV "home-shares" with - ONLY power the monitor down, leave the computer and hard disk running - apparently when the computer powers down, it affects the ATV!

2. Ensure that on the router the ATV connects to, you set as many parameters to the "AUTO" setting - e.g. on my router I have an AUTO-WPA setting amongst others. Selecting "Auto" setting may be more compatible with the ATV

3. Ensure that the channel on the router the ATV connects to is different from those routers in close proximity - interference between routers on the same channel can be a huge problem

4. ensure that the selected router channel works with all functions on the ATV
- e.g. selecting Ch-3 on my router allows streaming from my iMac, but prevents streaming Internet Radio from working altogether - don't know why

How do I know the Apple TV is the sensitive component?...
1. I setup my iMac to use Airport
2. I connect ONLY the ATV and the iMac to the one wireless router
3. I set the same Internet Radio station on both imac and ATV and let them play

Each time the internet streaming failed I would update my router setup
FYI - the iMac NEVER FAILED, only the ATV

Sometimes the router only was at fault e.g. one of the router settings caused the router to revert to b/g mode, even though it was set to the "n" setting (a bug) - who knows what other "problems" that router may have caused - BUT again - never with the iMac!

Hope this helps.

One other problem that still haunts my ATV - my Internet Radio "favourites" list keeps getting toasted
- anyone knows why or where they are stored? - many thanks in advance

An Observation:
I have noticed that the sound quality improved by moving the ATV over to an "n" router.
- I assume it's because the DAC connected to the ATV fills in for any lost data when re-creating the audio output,
- but when it gets all of the data it produces a better sounding audio output

So, if anyone out there can explain (in detail) how streaming works - or point me to a detailed article/description please do so - thanks
e.g.
what does happen if some of the digital stream is lost ?
does the streaming process check for completeness ?
does the ATV request a "re-transmit" from the host?
