Hi,
anyone tried this one already?
http://appshopper.com/music/internet-radiobox

looks cool, but is it worth paying for?

----------

ok, since no one seems to do the first step, I have bought it and it blown me away! :D
cool radios, interfaces, graphics, userfriendly, and and and...! simply rocks!
radio tuner got pwned!

it looks good but it doesn't seem to say whether or not it supports AAC+, if anyone can confirm this I will buy that app ASAP!

You can use http://gn-earth.homeip.net:8002 to test aac+ support if you don't know any streams that use it. Thanks!

You might want to have a look at FStream. It supports AAC+ (I just tested your link and it works)...

By the way, did I mention FStream is free?... ;)

Hey, thanks for the info! Now I can stop using 2.0.2 just for Tuner to work haha.

Looks like the Radiobox app is no longer available in the store. Not sure why.

I was able to download this app before it was removed
From the app store and it is the best
Internet radio app by far.

I am a internet radio junkie and I have bought and downloaded all of them
Including tuner wondereadio all radio etc and this is fast good audio easy
To bookmark has all of the shoutcast stations

Trust me if it becomes available again this is better than tuner and the rest

Hopefully it is not an urgent update similar to tuner's when half of the radio
stations were dropped for some reason

Many of the tuner buyers ,including myself, were very unhappy with the update.

Internet radiobox works very well as it is and im afraid an update may drop
many channels for some legal or other reason.

Trust me when I say this app is much better than tuner ,wunderradio and the other for pay apps

My pick for best free app is Pandora and internet radiobox for paid app

I still wonder if this works with AAC+ streams though and if you can manually add streams, there is no mention of this in the products description.

Lots and lots of problems with the update Many streams fail to play
Favorites dont work now.

Im going back to original app which i have a copy of. Original worked perfect.

no problems here at all
everything works fine

jimmy, your favorites were from shoutcast?

yeah they were all shoutcast streams.i think i will have to completely delete the app and then add back the updated app that will likely take care of the problem

Does it allow you to put in a url for streams or do you have to choose from a list?

yes, you can add own urls

but to answer your previews question: no, it doesnt support aac+ yet
I guess it's a bug in firmware 2.1.

And since FStream does support it, it's all software encoding(see about screen) = means a lot of cpu power needed. which leads to battery drain.
really hope apple will fix it very soon.
thats all I know of right now :)
FStream even software encode the mp3 stream, but why? iphone hardware supports it natively

Hey thanks for answering my questions, I don't think apple wants to support AAC+ natively, it just doesn't seem like that's something they like to do. But I guess they did change something in 2.1 that messed things up.

I've been using FStream and it does seem to eat a lot of CPU/battery life but there are some things you can do to reduce the load. I'd switch to mp3 but the quality of the encode is so much better with AAC+, and that results in a more stable stream because you can get a lower bitrate stream with good audio quality.

This app looks really promising though, the developers seem to be interested in keeping their stuff up to date, fixing bugs, and adding features. Which I've found isn't always the case.

Does the volume sync when using the side buttons?

This is one feature I really like with Tuner.

I just started using it (Internet Radiobox) and you can use the iPhone's volume buttons to increase/decrease the volume with the app.
