hi guys i finaly bought a mini server 2011 and it is awsome. swapped out the bottom hard drive fr an ssd hard drive and then screwed it back together. formated the ssd drive in recovery mode to partition 1. Then i went through recovery but it seemed a very fast install of lion for internet recovery. When everything is installed i found out it installed lion on the normal hard drive and the ssd drive was black. What is the best way to install the ssd drive with lion with out unscrewing the mac mini aprt again? I dont have anything on the os so dont mind wiping clean. Please help me as i am new to macs. switching over from windows for the first time. Thanks guys

I believe if you boot to the recovery menu again, there's an option to install from another OSX drive. Make sure you partition the SSD then the install should prompt you which drive to install on.

ok if i copy te osx from the hard drive on the mac mini to the ssd drive on the mac mini how do i get the mini to pick the osx on the ssd drive to be the boot partition? do i go back and wipe the hard drive and then it will pick the ssd automatically?

yes but don do that keep the boot info on both drives. go to systems preferences and use startup drive/disc it should list both the ssd and the hdd then click on each one and do a few boot tests. both should boot. buying keeping both drives as booters you can have faster recovery in a crash. just boot the other drive to recover.
