Anyone tried to use Internet Recovery to download & reinstall Mountain Lion. Mine indicates that it would take 10 - 15 hours to download? Seems a little fishy to me, but I'm thinking its more of a server issue than my iMac since everything else seems to download quickly?

It is a 4.7GB download, so if you know your rated DL speed you can do the math I suppose. On my 15Mbps connection it takes about 30-45 minutes or so.

I'm on a business class cable connection and mine takes about 30-45 minutes as well. Sometimes longer, depending on the server I hit at Apple.

I had to use Internet recovery after a botched boot camp partition. I remember the entire process only being like two hours. Imon 5mb DSL.

This might sound stupid - but try via Wi-Fi rather than ethernet.

On my retina, if I use the ethernet adapter, it says 20 hours, but does it in 2 minutes via Wi-Fi.

I finally tried this on my '12 MBA 13" about a week ago and it took close to an hour over WiFi.

I have 100Mbps service and the laptop was getting 92Mbps over WiFi sitting on the couch right before I started recovery.
