Hi there, I recently got a new TV for the living room and it has networking. Problem is I don't want to spend €80 on a "Sony" Wi-Fi adaptor. I have an AppleTV box beside and was wondering if the AppleTV could share the wi-fi with the TV it'self, the TV has an ethernet port and I was wondering if I could connect the two together. Kind of like on a mac on how you can share your wi-fi connection to computers using ethernet. Is this possible?

The ATV won't share an internet connection.

As for avoiding the pricey Sony wifi adapter - do you have any old routers laying around?

You could install DD-WRT on it and use it to pull in your wifi network and share it via ethernet with the TV.

I have this installed on an old router and it works great.

The only old modem I seem to have is the Netgear DG834GT. And I don't think it works because it's ADSL and not cable modem.
