I'm having some problems with my new 20" C2D iMac and accessing the Internet. It's been working fine up until now; the only changes I've made to it recently are the 10.4.8 and firmware updates, both which I installed yesterday. My connection seems a bit up in the air; half the time it doesn't work at all, and when it does work, it's extremely slow - slower than dial-up (or at least, that's what it feels like).
I connect to the Internet through a wireless router which shares the connection with my parents' PC. The PC isn't having any problems, and neither machine is downloading any other files. My Airport connection is at full strength and my Mac is only a few metres away from the router.
I'm on the phone with my ISP now to see if they can help, but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions for me? Has anyone else had these problems too?
Edit: just got off the phone with my ISP and it seems they are having DNS problems; they've given me an alternate DNS address and everything is working fine - it seems it was (hopefully) just a coincidence that this happened the day after I updated my Mac. Sorry guys.
